6th International Conference on Water Resources 2025

Embracing Change For A Resilience Future In Water Resources

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The progress on Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), which aims to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, has been mixed. On one hand, access to safely managed drinking water has improved, reaching about 73% of the global population by 2022.

Wastewater treatment has seen advancements, yet it remains significantly lagging in low-income countries. Though regional disparities persist, efforts towards integrated water resources management are gaining traction. Despite these efforts, the degradation of water-related ecosystems and ongoing water stress in many areas highlight the pressing need for accelerated and innovative solutions to meet the 2030 targets.

The digitalisation of the water sector, from AI-driven solutions to smart water management systems, plays a crucial role in shaping our future. A more sustainable approach is to integrate solutions with Ecosystem-Based Approaches (nature-based solutions) that harness the power of ecosystems to enhance water resilience and sustainability. By embracing innovative and sustainable practices, we can ensure a water-secure future for all. Let us unite in our efforts, exchange ideas, and inspire each other as we work towards a resilient and sustainable water future. Together, we can make a difference.
