Halal Training

What is Halal and why it is so important? Is it only food and why the Muslim throughout the world are looking for Halal products?

According to the Global Islamic Economy Report that the “worldwide spending on global food and lifestyle could rise 10.8 percent a year until 2019 to create an international industry worth USD$3.7 trillion.” The economic impact is huge since the Halal products and services are not only consumed by Muslims but also non-Muslims. Customers are looking for Halal, quality, hygienic, healthy and organic products. Conforming to the Halal strict requirements is important for manufacturers to ensure the customers receive the best products. Therefore, manufacturers and suppliers must have a good understanding of Halal Best Practices.

Malaysia has started the vision to be the leader in global halal industry in 1996 with the view that it would be the new source of economic growth for the nation and the Muslims world. Malaysia also realizes the importance of all the secondary support systems that are the basic components of the Halal ecosystem. Due to its continuous commitment in supporting the Halal business, the world has acknowledged Malaysia as the reference center for Halal certification as well as the Halal standard development and training.

UTMSPACE, established in 1993 and incorporated in 2011, is actively involved in promoting lifelong learning programs including Halal trainings. We have conducted a number of trainings in Korea and Malaysia for the university’s students and also the industry players. The courses are conducted based on experiential learning concept whereby the participants will be able to understand the theoretical aspects and also the Halal best practices.
